After developing his photography skills at New York’s School of Visual Arts, Steve Ragland quickly rose among the ranks of in-demand fashion and beauty photographers. With shoots taking him to locations around the world, and frequent workshops at such venues as WPPI, Steve needed a camera carrying solution that could keep up with his fast-paced lifestyle.
With my hectic travel schedule and busy shoots, my body was starting to feel the toll of constantly carrying around heavy photo equipment,” explained Ragland. “When I discovered Spider Holster I was instantly intrigued by how it allowed your camera to rest on your hips. After trying it, I felt an immediate relief to my neck and back and knew this had to be a permanent fixture to my photography routine.
Ragland became so reliant on his SpiderPro for carrying his heavy pro-DSLR equipment that he soon became using the Dual Camera System to carry around two cameras. With his cameras always at-the-ready on his side, he was free to direct clients or adjust lighting all while providing much needed all-day comfort.
I can’t imagine working without my Spider Holster. I never have to worry about my camera being damaged as I rush around locations or miss a moment on a shoot because my equipment wasn’t at my fingertips.
This Fall, Ragland will be embarking on an exotic cruise to Bermuda as part of Destination Photo Education’s annual photography workshop aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas. This seven-day trip, from October 28 – November 4, features eight photography instructors who host a variety of seminars and workshops on everything from lighting to posing.
“This is a truly unique event that brings the educational aspects of a traditional tradeshow-style workshop schedule to a beautiful location abroad a luxury cruise ship,” explained Ragland. “It’s a great chance for photographers to come aboard with their families, learn some new techniques, and soak in the gorgeous sights of the Caribbean. I’ll of course have my Spider Holster with me and will be wearing it during my workshops and, as always, expect many inquires about it from the attendees!”
Whether it is on location at a high-end fashion shoot, or on board the deck of a cruise ship on the Caribbean, Steve Ragland has gained a trusted camera carrying-solution in Spider Holster to accompany him wherever his travels may lead.
